Default JDM header availability???

Sorry for asking but are there any high quality header systems available made from Japan or US for an f22a SOHC or F22B DOHC? Does Fujitsubo/FGK, mugen, or even a US company make one??? Kind of tired of the usual generic ones. Need one with bigger piping this time that's a straight bolt-on.

Anyone have one for sale?

Thanks for the help!!!

What engine is it for? I saw ones you said not for, but not what one you're looking for.

Just get an ebay, megan or used DC sports header and put a 2.5" collector on it. Kamikaze headers come with a 2.5" collector but the 4-1 design isn't all that beneficial on an F22 unless you're highly modified. Otherwise your only true performance bolt-on option begins with Bisimoto.

Does anyone know the gain on the Bisimoto header itself and with bolt ones of intake, exhaust, high flow cat???

How about over the DC or Megan header???

Is it truly worth the $1149 for it as compared to the SMSP quality and numbers?

Thanks!

On one dyno I’ve seen, a Bisimoto header on a B16 produced 18whp @ 7000rpm and 12ft/lbs @ 6000 rpm over another $1100 header. Considering the price of the ‘competitor’s header’ it had to have been an SMSP/Hytech or the like. Bisi’s work speaks greatly for itself.

That being said, is it worth it for you? IMO, no. For the high cost, with just an intake and exhaust, the gains would be negligible over even a $50 ebay header.

An ebay (megan) or DC sports header untuned usually makes 3-5whp. The same header with a 2.5” collector modification might make between 5-8whp untuned, and sometimes up to 10whp or a little more with tuning and minimal supporting mods. I would speculate that Bisi’s design on a stock F22 untuned might make around 8-10whp, and probably a bit more when tuned.

Unfortunately there is no ‘middle ground’ for headers on F22/F23’s. Like I said in my first post, for less than $200 you can get an off-brand header with quality welds and material, mod the collector, and see 5-8whp. Ultimately it’s your money, but your $/whp climbs exponentially with a $1000 header on a stock F22. For only intake, header, exhaust, you’re better off just buying an inexpensive header.
