jhoff_wagon: Introduction
I picked the old wagon up rust free for $650, with a transmission problem.
Thinking it was a simple fix, I ordered new solenoides, but that didnt fix the problem.
The car sat for along time at my parents house. While it was sitting, it got slammed on a set of Function and Form Type ones, something like a 4" drop all around. I did nothing with the car after that, untill my Dad dropped it off in my backyard in November. As he was getting off the trailer, he ripped the front bumper off. Tore all the clips and everything.
I have since then bought all brand new tools from Craftsman. Went to a junkyard and got a used transmission, its in the car, just not finished. I also made a custom OEM grill, amber coner lights, and OEM replacement bumper. The car is semi put back together, waiting on the weather to get finished.
Heres when I first picked her up.
Ordered Function and Form Type Ones.
Lowered the front over four inches.
Wasnt able to lower the rear, the rear lower mount bushings were rusted.
Replaced those lower mount bushings, lowered it over four inches.
How she sat for a few months.
Fall shot.
Up at my place, the bumper didnt make the it off the trailer.
Started to work on getting the trans out.
Old trans out, first snow. It was very light and melted.
New trans in, just not hooked up and ready to go yet.
New bumper cover, custom grill, and amber corners.

Re: jhoff_wagon: Introduction
Nice setup. Never had rims larger than 15 because I personally prefer the stock look. I believe I have 15x7 with spacers. I have universal rims. Never had my car lowered either on coilovers or springs. I experienced it before, and it didn't feel right to me. Most likely its cuz I didn't care for it.

One improvement is reduction of body roll. I agree with the motion sickness aspect. It feels so much better when all 4 tires grip rather than throwing its weight about. Not to mention your wallet will thank you when you're not spending a grip load of money on sport rated tires.

I'm low on f&f type ones on 15" ex wheels and am none too happy with the amount of offset gap I have.
I'm not a big fan of hellaflush but I cant stand the tuck on the wheels I have all set in with factory offset.
I am either going to find some spacers, or change wheels again, probably to something with more like a 25 offset to close the gap.

Re: jhoff_wagon: Introduction
my 1.5" drop doesn't tuck much at all, barely ever scrape, and still looks decent, not monster truckin, but not slammed. But I agree on the offset, would .25 do anything?

On a side note, my sister used to have a 95 civic sedan sitting on 15x8 or 9 with 50 series tires. The gap was pretty tight and it looked lowered. The car was at stock height and she never installed any coilovers or springs. Just giving you an idea. Maybe go to a 45 or 40 series and it may close the gap?

I wish there was more wagons.
Eibach wagon lowering springs 1.4"F 1.5"R
I was thinking of doing a rota slipstream, and doing the same drop Night Wolf did.

Re: jhoff_wagon: Introduction
IMO, if you use a 50 series or bigger, I believe the gap will increase even with a drop. You may not even need no more than 3/4 to 1". Although, I don't even know what drop heights are available. LOL. I would stick with coil-overs because with springs it's more firm and create bobble head action. LOL. Rota's are a nice set. What's your budget like anyways? Maybe go with 01-02 rims from ex or exl. Si styled for accord. I'm all about stock because you don't want to create attention and potentially get stolen from you.

Re: jhoff_wagon: Introduction
That's a nice budget for suspension and wheels. Will that include sway bars and anti roll bar for the rears? Its been a while since I last looked at wheels. Rotas are popular out here in CA. My guess is they are cheaper compared to big names like Einki. I think that's how its spelled. Anyways good luc and keep us posted with the progress and end results.
My car however is close to being done. I have put so much money just into brakes and suspension. I am contemplating retiring her when I get a newer ride. Yes she's got potential, but not sure if she'll hold out long enough for me to save money to tinker. This is by far my favorite generation of Accord hands down. Don't care what people say about an automatic.
