Help! Engine Problems
I need help. My 99 EX is smoking a little out of the exhaust. When I changed my oil, I found that I was about 2 quarts low. I think I'm burning the oil, because I can smell it when I pop my hood. Can anyone help me out, and give me some insight on what the possible problem is? Also, how much it should cost to fix? Thanks.
I have a 1999EX with a AEM Cai, and DC headers, though I doubt that has anything to do with it. The car has about 55K on it.

yeah...i just changed it to synthetic, but it was kinda doing that before i changed the oil...i'm just worried about the fact that i was 2 quarts low after only 3000 miles.
This is scary for a '99 man.
You need to have someone follow you as you wind out the engine. Black smoke is pretty normal, that's just the motor running rich (extra gas to cool the combustion chamber).
Blue smoke or white smoke is bad news. Bluish smoke is oil and whitish smoke is water getting into your combustion mix, usually a sign of a very uncool engine problem.

White smoke usually means coolant is getting into your motor (well, the parts where you don't want it to go). Open your radiator cap and look for any signs of oil in the coolant. Open your oil filler cap and look for signs of water on the bottom of the oil cap (the water evaporates and condenses on the bottom of the oil cap). Usually water gets into the combustion chamber from a bad head gasket.
