Default Heating?

A guy at my job said he knows someone that can heat my stock springs and said that I would still get a good ride.
I heard about heating but dont know much about it. Whats pros and cons about them?

I would guess same effect of cutting them.....just buy actual lowering springs (eibach, h&r etc) do it right the first time.

dood a set of quality springs will run you like 200-250 bucks, i would invest in something that has properly been produced, shot peened(sp) and so on

NTM I would assume heating that metal might make it lose some of its rigity and durability being in spring form

it is possible to heat them, but do yourself a favor and buy some decent lowering springs, and save for them. or look around. i bought my sprints used off ebay like 2.5 years ago for $33 plus shipping. you will thank yourself later

Heating and collapsing used to be the popular thing before cutting..My dad used to do this to his 61 chevy..It is the worst thing you can do..The ride is horrible not to mention you loose the strength of the spring..Springs are heat treated a certain way and when you re heat improperly it can be dangerous..

I would say do like woogen and VR said and just bite the bullet one time and buy some quality springs..

exactly, so dont do it--we have excellent technology now that provides us with superior aftermarket springs--cutting or heating springs is f*cking stoopid
