headlight assyembly
yeah the 5th gens are so much fun to take off.................
lets say there is 2 easy bolts and 1 easy clip and 3 pain-in-the-*** bolts that you will have to take off.

Yea I've done it before. First take off your front bumper. This includes the bolts on the bottom, and 2 bolts holdin inside the signal lites on each side. Pull out the bumper and then dissemble the healight housing. There should be a total of 5-6 bolts holdin on each headlight housing.
Before u dl all this, u probably want to disconnect ur battery and all the bulb wires. Make sure u work in a clean area, so when u take out the housing, no dust will get inside the housing.

what i've done to my car and several other 5th gens is get to the underside of those tabs underneath the headlight with a pair of wire snippers and demolish those tabs and leave them out. those tabs do not really provide any REAL reinforcement of the front bumper so out and away they go.it'll be alot easier for you in the future if you plan on removing the front bumper again.

let's do thing the right way..I am sure we can take the headlight off without too much problems. I dont know it just me or what, i hate to do something to my car that can't go back to stock. once you tear the tap you will never have it again, why not spend like 10 more min and have everything perfect? just my two cents.
