Hey ya'll, I just wanted to give you some personal advice. When you do a swap, keep it stock for a little while, then do mods. Intake and exhaust are ok, but I did the head package, with cams, valves, springs, and retainers, and I HIGHLY suggest that all you of NOT do this. I had many many problems, from a broken cam, to a bad hydraulic tensioner and a broken spring. Which is not fun at all.
One thing you all may want to do if you get the swap done, is replace the hydraulic tensioner for an h23 (nonvetc) mechanical tensioner, it's much stronger, and will save you trouble in the long run and replace your motor mounts. These are just small suggestions.
If you get new valves, go with ferrera. I got skunk 2, and they began to mushroom. So, I now have ferrera. Although I still have the skunk 2 springs, retainers, and cams. It may not pull as hard as it did, but my car runs a whole lot better!
good Luck to all who have, and are planning on their fun swaps!!

...wow, sounds like bad mechanics, or bad luck, we typically tell people the other way around. One, because labor cost is going to be A LOT cheaper with the engine already out of the car and TWO because, sometimes when the motor comes in, its hard to tell how good of shape the original factory parts are in, and when you replace them, and replace them right, you know they are new....
well i agree to a point. i am having the worst down time and trouble cause i tried to use skunk2 cam gears. nothign against the company, but ive broke one in half, had to wait for reorder, then it messed up cam seal replaced that, messed with cam shafts some.. had to fix oil leakage around that. .. i should of keep it stock or went all out and did a full sleeve and block replacement.
oh and to those who look at mods. i talked to a dyno shop around here that does domestics and imports all day. and they said get this "unless you have major camshaft adjustments. like aftermarket or regrind, 80% of their cars run best with gears set straight up".. thats crazy and i know a guy intown with a supra and his runs best straight up. all the cars that head to the track here, have had them tuned. run better straight up. what a waste of money IMO

Heh.. just goes to show the engineers DO know what they're doing.
On the Supra.. thats not the first one I've heard about responding poorly to cam gears.
