Nah.... Went for a "blind" mountain run, and lost control.

Thinking of getting a 95 MX-5.

Amazingly my luck wasn't all that bad. The CHP guy, just cited me for property damage cause I hit the fence.

Blind mountain run, it's like grip driving in the mountains. It wasn't my first time doing it, so I'm not a total newbie on it. But I was still so much of a newbie to not take a glimpse of the whole "track" before going "all out".

So what I think happened was. I was following a friend of mine in an S13 (who has gone thru this before) and he made the RT turn. I was going around 65mph? and as I turned the rear end slid a good amount. I wasn't used to that happening so..stupid me, I slam on the brakes causing my car to slide even more in a straight line.

Possisble factors of sliding:
Graval?
Inertia weight transfer?
Pure stupidity"
Poor tire traction?

Well whatever might be the true cause, I blame my lack of skills, and my pure stupidity. Things like this ONLY belongs on the track, and not on public roads where otheres can actually get hurt. In my case, it was pure luck that I didnt hurt anyone..Which I'm greatful everyday for.

I want a Miata cause, they're small, good on gas (30mpg), and very versitile. Best of all they have a hardtop option (which looks so sexy) and are pretty much track ready. I'll miss the 5 seater, but just gotta move on.

I've been on other boards (prior to HT), but seriously HT is the best one by far, very very knowledgable folks, friendly people, TONS and TONS of information, bottem line. Great community

Sure you guys can flame...

Get another Honda.

Sorry about your loss.

Would you be interested in parting out your car?

I'd like to get another Accord, but it would have to be a replica of the one I had..As for parting out, I don't really know what the insurance (AAA) will allow me to take out.
HIDS are barely 2 months old, still working as you guys can see, but I don't know if they'll still be there when I go see her. I'd like to retrofit it into the Miata, but no solid plans yet.

On the bright side. I'm checking out a 95 Miata on Tuesday, 67k miles, mint condition, soft top, manual..tip top shape $5k.

I've already got HIDs. But your leather interior interests me. Or I might swap to that charcoal/grey interior.

Quick question for you, though. How's the tan leather look in your car? My car is green also, but can't decide between tan, and charcoal.

IMO Tan looks great! But some maintainence is required to make it really stand out/bling. Charcoal/black IMO looks even more hot, since you don't have to clean it as often, but it get hot in hot days. But then again tinted windows helps I have some interior pics if you're interested.

if you're getting a miata, get a 96-97. A bit more horsepower, but overall a much stronger engine. The years before that had some engine problems.

Sorry about your car, I'm glad you're alright.

Would you mind posting pics of your car prior to the accident? I'm interested in seeing how good it looks without the pinstripe. Mine is still on my car, heh. But yes, definitely post some interior shots.

Yeah, 96 does have more power. The engine problem that I've only came across so far is the crank pully key gets wobbly..but that only applies to the 1990 Miatas. But as

I want to boost it and don't want to deal with OBDII garbage

I'll post pics when I get home.

I don't think LSD ever became standared http://www.miata.net/faq/miatachanges.html. It was offered as an option on 90+. But I appreciate your inputs.
