fried ecu?

well I took it to a honda dealership and they said part of the ecu was fried. I was thinking, shouldn't there be a fuse to prevent this from happening? And if the fuse is blown how the hell can part of the ecu be fried? Are they just trying to screw me?

I highly dought your ECU died. They are probably trying to rip you. Check all the fuses, the ones by your feet, and the ones in the engine .

there are fuses inside the engine? i knew there were some in the engine bay... where are the ones in the engine?
