Default First time post

Hi guys, I just bought my first car, a 2001 accord EX V6 with the v-tec. She has less than 39K on her and is in about mint condition. Is there anything to know when owning one of these beasts?

Oddly enough, I kinda tiled a ladys basement for it. she even bought the tile! Yeah I heard about trannys being an issue because they used the same transmissions as they do for the 4 cylinder and its too much engine for the tranny to handle. Thanks tho! I will!

False. It is not the same transmission.

Both transmission do share a design flaw as they were both introduced during the same time frame as the F23 and J30 replaced the F22 and C27.

Might want to think about changing out the timing belt. Doesnt have alot of miles, but it will be 13 years old, this is assuming it has never been done. It may have sat for long periods of time without being driven much. Also, drain and fill the tranny on a regular basis.

Not all codes will cause the CEL/D4 lamp to illuminate. Use a scanner to check for any 'hidden' codes.

For sure, thanks for the advice, apparently the only thing on the car that's been changed is the battery. It drives fantastic, but I haven't had an issue with the timing belt but I should look ayway!
