Is there a serial number on the engine of a 99 4 cyl Accord and if so where is it located?

 

You mean a VIN?

One the firewall, registration sticker, on the dashboard plaque, inside the door seem, and somewhere in the trunk.

 

A dealer service department did a VIN status inquiry on my 99 Accord.
It has all the history of the vehicle and next to engine number it has F23A12107961.
My VIN is different

 

The serial # of the ENGINE (not the VIN) is stamped on the block. As the engine sits in the car, it's alongside the bellhousing of the transmission, a couple inches below the headgasket. There's a flat surface machined into the block, the # starts with the engine type like F23A1 then a 7-digit number.
