Hey 1997 civic dx here 5 speed manual trans engine light on. Codes say speed sensor. So I bought speed sensor the one onthe trans on e-bay and no help spped-o bounces around and engine light on. Also lights pulse with a/c on. Any help on this on would be great thanks

 

I heard that the alternator can cause similar problems. you should check and make sure that it is charging at 14+ volts.

 

The error code for the VSS covers not only a bad VSS, but also disconnected or screwed-up wiring. The ECU can't tell the difference between a bad VSS or a broken wire.
