which engine?
What engine do you guys think i have The LX or the EX. My car doesnt have badges so i dont know. It doesnt have the overdrive button (sports, normal) so is it an LX because i have seen that button on the EX. Also do those ECU chips work, will it harm my engine?

if you have a 5th gen, and never touched the car, if im not wrong...
1 - valve covers are different for lx and ex i think?
2 - headers are 4-1 on LX , 4-2-1 on Ex
3 - trunk emblem if it hasnt been removed..
4 - how did u buy a car without knowing what it is? *just teasing*
5 - single pea shooter is LX , Dual pea shooter is Ex i think?

well what year is your accord....it should say on your engine block...im not sure about the 4 gen...but the 5 gen and 6 gen dont come with that overdrive button whether ex or lx...it's jus 1, 2, d3, and d4....also if your body moldings are the same color as your car then its a ex if its 94+...as for the ecu chips, they do work if u buy the right one....DO NOT!!! get the ones off ebay for like 20 bucks...those do not work....u get what u pay for and remember that....be careful what u buy....since the scene has gone mainstream everyone's tryin to scam newb's...do research b4 buying anything.

sunroof could mean SE. I think the easiest way for a noob to find out is to pop the hood and see it says "VTEC" on the valve cover. Simplest and quickest way to distinguish an lx and ex motor.
Also don't forget about the rear disc brakes on EX's and the Alloy rims that i believe lx's didn't have.

legendaryyaj. Any suggestions on where to buy a good ECU chip , cuz i was going to get one at ebay for $40 but now that u have warned me , maybe i wont.
