electrical problems

Default electrical problems

one of my fuses blew out . . the one that is connected to my parking lights , my gauge light, and my tail-light . . i replace it with a new 15 amp fuse and it keeps on fry'n that piece of **** . . . dunno what to do . . need help

its a 94 accord ex coupe

how am i suppose to find the short . . . i do have after market tail lights but i install it while back ago wasn't recently . . all of a sudden one day the fuse just blew n i got a short circuit . .

dude if you do not know how to use a volt/ohm meter, it is best that you do NOT work on your car.......you can really screw yourself over if you do not know what you are doing and fron the sounds of it, you don't

take the VoltMeter set to the OHMS setting and see if there is a short between the +12V and ground if there is you need to find it and repair it

the wiring for one of the lights using that fuse has a problem such as worn away plastic. so if the wire is exposed, it could be shorting out any time it hits the frame of the car. you also could have enough condensation in one of your light housings to cause a short, although if it doesn't look too apparent, then this likely isn't your problem. if you spent any time splicing wires (you said you replaced the taillights) check the connections you made, and make sure there's no exposed wires. the most basic thing you can do right now is to look for physical signs of wear and tear on the wiring, although it won't be the easiest or most complete way since you won't be able to inspect everything.
