so can anyone explain to me how a new system diffrent from stick.. i mean its just pipes.... wats the point of buying a new system when u can get someone to just make u piipes anways </TD></TR></TABLE>
You can have someone make you an full exhaust by mating the pipes with your choice of muffler. This is theoretically the same thing as buying a "new system", from companies. By upgrading an exhaust system, such as creating your own or buying a pre-made one, you will increase the size of the piping. Some aftermarket exhausts are 2.25'' and some 2.5'', just depends. Larger piping and stainless steel material is the difference.
Adding a larger muffler to smaller piping can cause the noise to be irritating and sound terrible.

I'm not too sure, but it may be 1.75" near the collector and then 2" as the regular piping. I don't know for sure though. Try search and you shall find.

You can run the same diameter piping all the way through, I don't think it will do much except decrease backpressure (if you go bigger). Anyway, most aftermarket exhausts make use of a much larger tip than they do for the piping...mainly just for looks though.

Because the car has to have a "cat" for emissions inspection. So people usually go back from there "catback". If you do go with a catback, get stainless piping, it will last much longer. The regular steel stuff will only last a few years. When you go with aftermarket exhaust, you run the risk of it sounding like ****, vibrating the whole car, and (if you remove the cat), getting a CEL because of the 02 sensor. I would go with stock, myself. It's stainless, will last a long time, bolts right up, and you don't have to worry about complications. But in the end, it's all up to you. It's your car, and your money.

but u see if i put oem **** on wats the point i want the lil hp increase and the nice sound i just dont want it to be very loud in low RPMS....
so wats there u can do before the CAT because thats where my pipe has a hole so should i let this guy just replace that one pipe or do somethin diffrent from before the cat to the header ?

Horsepower increase, PLEASE. And if you ask me, no exhaust will make a 4cylinder engine sound good. Even V6's don't sound right with dual exhaust. The only thing that sounds good to me is a big V8 with a good dual exhaust. The rest, I'd rather not hear. Just my opinion. I call em like I hear em.

Actually, If you've a muffler shop in your area which will work (and really listen) with you; it could work to your distinct advantage.
Talk to them about your options and come to a consensus about which way to go.
I might suggest heavy wall pipes 2 1/4" Diameter, an in-line resonator and a short case OEM style muffler (off something like an S15 GMC (as an example)) and the tip of your choice. have the resonator inserted in the intermediate pipe between the Cat Converter and the first bend.
The pipe size and the expansion type muffler will avoid the "Fart Can" effect we've all come to despise, and you should have something you can stealth around with.
