Default Dashlights

So ive seen alot of threads on the taillights and dashlights not working, but my problem is just the dashlights dont work.

I've checked all the fuses and they are fine, i dont know what else to check, and i dont want to change the bulbs if there is something im missing.

Anyone have anymore info?

I'm unaware of any fixes for your 1973 Ford F150 dashlights.......

If it's a 94-97 Accord I would suggest looking at the Small Lights fuse or dimmer switch. If the back of the cluster lights up but the faces are not illuminated then there are two overhead bulbs which requires you to remove the instrument panel to get to.

You'll need to post much more information as to what 'dashlights' are and what vehicle you're talking about. Dashlights could mean cluster, or the heating/ac, or anything else on the dashboard.

Hi Muffin, do you know the procedure of removing the instrument panel? I have 1 or 2 lights there that no longer light..

I can't really see any screws or any obvious way of removing it..

Accord FAQ has a cluster removal.

There's no *easy* way to do it. You don't have to remove the outside portion of the center console or the glovebox if you can reach up behind/below the heat/ac controls with a screwdriver. It'll make more sense after you've seen the thread.

If it's only a couple, they have probably burnt out. You can purchase replacements from Honda directly, eBay, or if you're feeling adventurous convert to LED's

okay, so i finally went and checked them out, it seems one of the bulbs is out.

This is my wifes car and im trying to learn as much as i can, i have a prelude so their all similar.

Another question: the little markers, arent those supposed to illuminate as well? the little orange ones, those are out as well, the radio i can deal with for now its going to be aftermarket soon anyway.

Not sure I follow by 'little markers'

Do you mean the lights on the exterior in the corner lenses? If that's the case yes, there are two bulbs in the corner light by the headlight.

I can't think of any orange things in the dashboard?

Ahh, no the needles do not light up - and shouldn't be orange. They should just be a white color. There are two overhead light bulbs that shine down on them. If they're difficult to see at night it's probably those bulbs.

It appears Honda has discontinued them...

I found some at Atlanta Light Bulbs... http://www.atlantalightbulbs.com/

they had GE73 bulbs, they are just slightly larger, but fit in the sockets.
you have to insert them gently because if you push them into the socket too much they expand the socket and wont go back into the cluster.

I think the overhead can be replaced just by some Sylvania ones from AutoZone. I'm not sure on the ones that light up the cluster itself to be honest.

im talking to a guy to see if he can get the LED's the overhead bulbs are super small, i dont think ive ever seen them before, if i cant find them, ill end up get the LED conversion that was already linked in the thread. Im going to end up doing the conversion in the future anyway might as well do it now, i pulled it apart and found the problem so its all good i just hope its the bulbs themselves and not something else
