cd player/changer code problem
friend has a 99 accord with the 6 cd changer and player. he got the code from honda to get pass the security deal, the lady walked him thru the process and still doesnt work. she said she didnt know what the problem might be, so has anyone else had this problem? any ideas?
he got it from his brother like that about a year ago. doesn't look like it was ever removed. yes, the display turns on, does not have power antenna
i am assuming he is using the radio code for his brothers car too right? if so then does the display show radio stations and volume levels? if so the radio might be bad and not be putting out signal to the speaker wire outputs.
ask your brother for the code or his VIN number then call the dealer again

1) Was the code that was given to you for this car / this radio? There is not one code for all radios, each radio has a four or five-digit number assigned to it. Not all '99s had radios that needed codes, my '99 LX doesn't (didn't, I replaced it several years ago with an aftermarket radio).
2) Has he been driving around with no radio for over a year?
3) CD changers are obsolete, consider spending $150 or so on a nice, quality after market radio from Crutchfield.
4) The '99 is in the sixth generation, all sixth generation Accords have the antenna in the rear window.
5) Does he still have the owner's manual? It might say how to enter the code.
