One is a 2dr and one is a 4dr...both are 5th gen accords.

The cd7 is a 2dr and a cd5 is a 4 dr.

edit you asked for cB5's...my bad.

cd5 is just a chassis identification number.....

CD5 (94-97) Accord Sedan
CD7 "" "" Accord Coupe

all accords (+3rd gen and up i belive), preludes, etc. are built on the same "series" of chassis...the C series....b,d,g,etc are all just designated what came first or second....the numbers might have some meaning, but they simply differentiate between sedan, coupe, wagon, or trim levels, etc

It's just a chassis code....like certain year civics are ej's some are eg's some are ek's etc etc. Every model is specific, accord to a s2k to a nsx.

You can learn a lot from looking at your VIN number....I will try to find the breakdown of the information .

found the info at this site, interestingly enough

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by .ken &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You can learn a lot from looking at your VIN number....I will try to find the breakdown of the information .</TD></TR></TABLE>

say the beginning of the vin number was jhmcb7:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">J = Japan
H = Honda
M = Passenger car built in Japan
CB7 = Accord 2.2L

If your first digit starts with a:
1 = US
2 = Canada
3 = Mexico
K = Korea
V = France
J = Japan</TD></TR></TABLE>

if i remember right, the first digit gives country of origin for the body, second digit gives vehicle manufacturer, thrid digit gives country of origin for engine, next three would be the chassis code.

feel free to correct me if i'm wrong about the body versus engine origins (1st and 3rd digits).

Get a lot of them and set up a classified ad for Accords. That's the way to do it, spread the wealth.
