I'm looking at getting the Skunk2 full coilover kit for my '91 Accord. My problem:

I read in different forums possibly the Skunk2's springs being waaaay too stiff giving a hard "bouncy"/unforgiving ride. Unfortunately the several blogs I read jumped from coilovers to lowering springs back to coilover so much, I didn't know what people were ridin' on...seemed like they were ridin' on bricks.

I need to know your experience strickly on the Accord Skunk2 coilovers. If you had the full Coilover kit/sport shocks included that's even better. I'll take all recommendations to find that suspension kit which offers that smooth yet aggressive ride!!

Set up: '91 Accord Sdn, 17"-205/45. I run it hard when I have to!

I know your asking about the coilovers, which I do not have. lol. I do have the sport shocks..... SImply GREAT. I have nothing bad to say about them. Infact Everything is excellent! I have the 2" skunk2 drop on my car aswell. The drop is pretty low if you had a lip any lower than my Mugen "replica" it would be broke with quickness if your part of town is anything like OKC.

Skunk2 makes quality products man, I have been riding on mine for over a year now with not a single complaint. Yeah I know I dont have the coilover setup you speak of but I do have a good drop and they ride fantastic. A little bumby, no where near some of the bad shitcans I have rode in before though. Its a snug and comfortable ride.

ive had the S2 sport shocks and S2 coilover sleeves. i didnt like the ride quality at all. way to stiff and bouncy. i ended up getting H&R full coilovers. and i didnt even know that S2 made full coilovers for the accord

My suggestion would be KONI/Ground control. I know a few guys who've run skunk 2 and have replaced them for something else like TEIN or D2.

S2 Accord coils are 560lb/in or 10K

Way too stiff for the shocks

The setup to go with would be the springs and the shocks. I had 8k/6k sleeves on the S2 shocks, and it was a little too soft. Switched to Tokico Illuminas, and it's better.

S2 shocks are weird, cause they allow u to lower a lot with their shortened shaft, but they are too soft for hard springs. I wouldn't recommend them.

Unfortunately I already brought the Skunk2 Coilovers (not installed yet, still in the box), and haven't brought the shocks yet. Basically you recommend scrub using the Skunk2 all together or possibly use the coilovers with the Tokico Iluuminas Shocks?

If you had the shocks, I would get the S2 springs (not the sleeves) to match them.

The adjustable sleeve setup is too stiff; they are road racing stiffness.

I'f you're looking at traditional shocks/struts, I would go for springs over sleeves.
Kole317, somewhere on this site, he had the same S2 setup you were thinking of getting and it rode HARD and bouncy!
But, he was more in it for the dump than the performance. I think the springs would offer a more comfy ride and more legit handling.
