ac problems

Icon2 ac problems

The ac in my 96 accord lx is having problems when I turn the ac on the compressor the pulley slows down to almost a stop but it just barely turns I just put another one on it but it was used the car I got it from had 60,000 miles on it but it's doing the same thing as the other one if I could get some suggestions would be very appreciated thanks

Belt slipping? If not then I would suspect a couple of things...clutch slipping? Internal problems inside compressor...but if it was a known good compressor...you may have an internal refrigerant blockage. Best way to see this is to hook up some AC gauges. The high side would be really high and that could be putting too much strain on the compressor and slowing it down.
