removing the resonator from the intake changes the sound, not the air filter itself. shop around for a price on a K&N filter.

Re: INTAKE FILTERS (JDM_DC4_Fanatic)
It won't change the sound, and either filter will make the whistle sound unfortunately...
I just stuck with the generic filter on my ebay intake, can anybody verify if its ok to use the filter it came with or if it does a lot of harm to the engine as compared to a k&n?

Re: INTAKE FILTERS (power11)
If you have an aftermarket intake they don't have resonators. He was talking about the stock intake. K&N filters run around 40-50 bucks I think. It won't change the noise for a different filter. And it won't hurt your car to use the filter that came with your intake, Only difference is flow isn't that great vs. A good filter. Better filters do filter the air better so I guess I'd advise getting a good one. Check out the Weapon-R Secret weapon filters. Good ****.
