96 accord lx 4cyl oil in all 4 plug wells
I just finished replacing the seal on the distributor and was about to install new cap, wires and plugs when the 1st plug wire came out dripping with oil. I checked the rest and of course are all soaked.
So being new enough to repairs to handle the distributor seal, I am thinking this is serious enough to take to a shop, maybe even the dealer.
Anyone ever run into this issue on a 96 accord? How bad is the fix?

Ive been looking through this thread...
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/1996-accord-oil-filled-spark-plugs-seals-replaced-2903530/
but there are a few things that I'm not so sure about.
The assembly removal, seems like there is a good chance this could throw things off. A valve adjustment is suggested and I just dont know what to do there and could get into trouble.
Also RTV, is that a sealant? Ive read where some say not to use it nd use the gaskets and seals only.

Same video I used. This guy is entertaining.
Just use the rtv at the junction points where it curves on the valve cover itself, sealant isn't needed anywhere else. Make sure you've got a good calibrated torque wrench and light. It took me 1 hour but I took my time since I did it for the 1st time. It didn't throw anything off, just triple check and make sure the cams are aligned with the rocker "hammers"

I went with the fel pro kit and with the help of the you tube videos from the other thread, as well as the valve adjustment video, I got it all done and it runs good.
I spent $20 and learned a lot vs the $275 that the dealer wanted.
