I never got the whole painters tape thing... Its a car... its meant to be driven, **** happens. If you are trying to make it look good... it looks like hell driving down the road with blue tape all over it.

I think i get why they do that lol i commute from oc to san pedro that is 20-30 minutes on the freeway and i been driving my coupe as a daily and i'm getting rock scratches on my front bumper and some on the hood but still i wouldn't stick tape on my car let alone spell funny words all over it that part i don't get .

 

Well hello up tight crowd.

I did it because the drive was an hour on the highway and out in a rocky area.

The trunk thing was my GF being funny and its just painters tape its not going to hurt the car not with 3 coats of wax on it.

Everyone does things a little different and I guess I'm more easy going because it is just a honda people.

I wouldn't stress it too hard. It is, after all, just the interwebz You post up pictures of your car for people to give you compliments and give you their opinion. And that's exactly what's happening. Who knows, maybe some people are stressed out lately. But I, for one, am pretty happy in my life right now and I think you've done a great job with your coupe

The fact of the matter is, once that tape is off, your coupe is ****ing clean!

 

i myself wouldnt tape up unless i knew it was a long long drive and my paint was fresh.. but yeah i see tape all the time so dont even trip about it...

thanks i will post more pics and yeah the window visors are a pain and i dont like the fact that i have to push my windows up with power windows to close them tight with the visors

 

I 'get' the reasoning behind it. I have a new paint job... and I drive the coupe 45 miles to work, which over half of that drive is a construction zone. Its a car, if you are scared of rock chips, leave it in the garage.
You seem uptight defending yourself. I never said you had to change your ways. Do as you want to your car, I am just saying I dont get it and I think it is silly.

I guess they must of stopped making that color paint. If a rock hits your car at 70+mph with painters tape i highly doubt that tape is gonna save it from a chip. But i guess if you like wasting money on tape then go right ahead:p

As for the coupes, I havent thought any more about it. The black one isnt running right now, and I havent had the time/motivation to pull the head and see what the deal is. The plug in cyl 1 in black as can be, and there is unburned fuel just chilling in there... not a good sign.

I still want that captiva blue hatch! But I guess we will see...

I couldn't agree any more. Plus like Robbie already said, it's a CAR, it's ment to be driven. That's what they do you know. If you don't want the paint getting 'imperfections' in it, then go get your self a enclosed trailer. Just don't make the car look like a joke with tape on it.
