anyone without the original reciept of the car from the dealer cannot claim original paint, and this discussion is really ******* stupid.
just look at that composimo frame up retso, there was a SHITLOAD of bondo on that car and it had a clean carfax and looked 100% perfect before they sandblasted it.
this is the most vain thread ive ever seen and astonishing being its only a ******* civic. Even the corvette restoration guys don't care this much weather or not the paint was original. As long as the part numbers are all there and the resto is done correctly, its considered extremley valuable.
the previous owners wife could have borrowed the car, went to the gas station, and backed the **** into a pole, and there would be no insurance or paperwork, he gets all the body work done, then 15 years later it ends up here. i seriously hope thats the case with anyone who gives this much of a **** about something so stupid.

this guy needs to take a deep breath. who cares about all that nonsense, why does everything on here have to be by the book serious. take a deep breath and cool out, I surf this site for my own personal enjoyment and would like it if the golden rule were observed lightly. I like this thread, I like any thread that has a crx pic in it.

I'm the 3rd owner so not completely sure but I'm pretty sure its original except the left rear quarter panel(which I found out for myself). Last pic bad cuz its night but it has the added passenger mirror, painted the steelies flat black, and took off the poorly chosen color choices pinstriping.

here is mine. and for the dude that said u have to have all the papers and ****, my grandpa gave this car to me, he bought in new in 88. I have every single paper for it including window stickers, sales receipt, options he got like mudflaps front lip etc, everything so i can support that mine wasnt wrecked by a previous owner or anything. Here is my rio 88 crx si. It has now been buffed and polished and dropped 1.5 inches and all the dirt in the wheel wells has been removed and painted gloss black along with cleaned up black trim. It is dusty and away for the winter in the garage now so i have no recent pic, just 2 days after gramps gave it to me.
