jeez Mark, you really luv to stirr things up, don't you. Alright, let me chime in here for a minute to rebuttle Mark's claims about the state of the EK SQAUD. As all of you know, I am the only one in the EK SQUAD who has the power to bring in new members to the crew. So if anyone is questioning my logic or reasoning for letting anyone into the group, please feel free to voice your opinions to me.
Aside from whatever state your hatch is currently in, I do view every member in the SQUAD as equal and everyone has a voice that will be heard. Like I've always said it's the members make up the EK SQUAD. I'm sorry that some of you may feel like we are all not on the same playing field, which i agree may be true due to seniority, but we are all here for the same reason... to build our hatch to it's fullest. However, i built the EK SQUAD so that members could unite with the common bond of being an ethusiast and a builder.
I do accept responsibility for the direction of the group. My actions and decision as to who receives an invite with a new member does change the dynamics of the group each time... new member, new thoughts and ideas. I do take these things into consideration with each new member, which is why I go through the trouble of interviewing each possible candidate before they receive a sticker and become official new members. Are they the right fit for the group? I not only look at the car, but i take into consideration the owner and the potential they have with their build.
My intention for letting new members in who may not be on the same level as others, was only to help grow our reputation and open it up to new groups. I am not saying that the EK SQUAD is now changing and that we are letting anyone who owns a 96-00 hatch into the group... my requirements and standards are still the same. I apologize to those who may have objected to my decision making.
Moving forward, I will assure you that the belt will be tightened as far as new members are concerned.
I may not post everyday in the thread, but I assure you I am reading everyones comments. BIG BROTHER is watching
Anyways, thanks to all the members who have voiced their opinions on this matter. I hope that in the future we can continue to keep building those elite hatches and showing everyone what separates the EK SQUAD from the rest.

sorry chris you know by now I speak my mind. I was tired of getting PM's from people complaining about who has been let in and what some people are thinking about doing. All I did was say what a bunch of people were thinking/too afraid to say. In the end it doesnt matter I dont own an ek anymore but it seems like EK Squad has lost its exclusivity....

I didn't say there wasn't anything done to Yee's old car. From what I could see it looked like a paint job, wheels, drop and a wing. And let's not forget the bug guard. I can't recall what the interior might have looked like nor do I know anything else about it. Generally I saw the same sets of photos posted over and over. There could have been more done to it, but like I said, I don't know.
And Yee's current car was only brought up since it's the only car I'm currently aware of that was bought by another squad member. It's nothing in particular against him.
It had more to do with cars that were bought as is (or relatively).

WTF!?!? who goes to the track with a roof rack? mite as well put a bike on top while your at it

Eran went to the track with the roof rack on because it was allowed at the track and the rack is a pain in the *** to put back on. He took the bike locks off while he was there.
I've personally seen the time Eran has put into his car. But I'm not saying that Yee or anyone else hasn't put time into their own cars (or past cars).
The one car that really made me wonder at all was the silver hatch that looked like it had little more than a drop and wheels. It raised my eyebrows the moment I saw it was supposed to be in the Squad.
As far as cars that were bought, I wasn't sure if the car is in the Squad for life or if the member was in the Squad for life or if the member is in the Squad for life as long as they own a 6G hatch or what. So I didn't question it too much.
