the tires are grippy.. from what i hear, RA1's and NT-01's have the same tire compound, so they are basically the same, just with a different tread pattern. i honestly don't think i am at the level to need/utilize R-compounds though. the improvement between going from azenis to RA1's was crazy though, the car handled a lot better. however, the lost of grip was due to my suspension setup, which is heavily geared towards understeer. i need to redo the suspension setup in the EK.
the del sol on the other hand, with Hankook RS-2 tires, handles amazing. I think the del sol with those tires, can outhandle the EK with RA1's..
i still have A LOT to learn until i get to r-compound level, so imma most likely be doing next track season on street tires.</TD></TR></TABLE>
My humble opinion, practicing with weight transfer will help under/over situation. I sometimes use left-foot braking.
RS-2 are nice tires, but due to less grip compare to R compound, if you lock up your brakes, they will get scrapped easily to become flat spotted.
RA1 allowed me to push the car a little better this season, of course, lack of brake ability was a draw back. But with 225 front/205 back, it was a nice combo imo. Didn't experience too much under.
I might even run 14" on the back next year, if I can't pair up my sw388.

i didn't realize how badly my car understeered until i took the del sol out for a track day.. the del sol has a very simple setup, with just koni/ground control, 450lb front/500 lb rear.
the RA1's on the EK just covered up a lot of that tire slip the azenis had when it was understeering hard, so it felt better as it gripped harder..

same.. i haven't gotten the tires mounted yet. i also need to get a small spacer, because they barely clear the spoon calipers with less than 1mm..

Some how, I am not a big believer using rear biased spring rates on Hondas, neutral handling is what I like the most, hug the curve and utilize weight shifting. Oversteer may be better to swing the corners, but that is for autocross in my opinion.
Someone told me that S2K and EK shares the front geometry, that's why both cars handle so well on the track.

i think having a rear biased spring rate helps make our honda's more neutral. reason being is because FF cars naturally have understeer. so increasing the rear spring rates help the car rotate. it's a balance.
the del sol doesn't feel like it has a lot of oversteer. using 450lb front and 500lb rear, with a stock 24mm front sway bar and 15mm rear sway bar. it feels very good.
my ek on the other hand understeers like crazy. has 14k front and 10k rear, with a 26mm front sway bar and 22mm rear sway bar. gonna change the suspension to 10k front and 12k rear, and probably change to a 22mm front sway bar with a 18mm or 19mm rear sway bar. and then go from there.

I would suggest going witht he EX front sway (22 i think) and an itr rear, and see how it feels. when i wen from a 26mm front sway to a 21mm (23mm itr rear) it made a hell of a difference in turn in. i still have a slight understeer when at the limit on long sweeping turns, but in the tight stuff the front follows a nice line.
my rates were 12k front and 7k rear BTW. It may be a whole different beast when using higher rates like yours, just giving some info that may help
sway bars are cheaper than springs and valving

when i change my spring, well change whole coilovers from 10k f and 7k r, to 14k and 10k it was a big differences..my car used to just dive and push into turns..still understeer a little but i going play with other parts of the suspension.. the spring rate is perfect right now cause i do a lot of back road driving where there are more bumps then a track.. so i want the suspension to absorb the bumps and not just hop over them...the car handle a lot better with a higher spring rate.. i am now just play with the damping of coilover to help make the car rotate more...

I'm no expert, but I have always heard you should only change one thing at a time. I'm sure you have more experience than me, but I know for a fact this helps me understand exactly what the car needs improvement on.

yeah.. for now imma just change the spring and shock assembly, i'll leave the sway bars for now.. so gonna have some Tein RS coilovers for sale soon if anyone is interested..
