I have painted bumpers and my seats don't look like they belong in a prehistoric themed van from the 70s.

I'm a bit confused about what codes I am having. I've got 6 short blinks and then 16 short blinks. The first I can figure to be an engine coolant temp sensor. I thought codes 10 and up were in long and then short blinks not just short blinks? so I'm not sure what the 2nd code is.

yeah code 17 is vss. Code 16 is fuel injector. The directions I have on reading codes said codes 10 and up were in long and then short blinks so I was a bit confused.

At least my hatch is running again. I don't know why the fuel pump refuses to work sometimes.

lol I like how the mats are laid out in the wrong format. The driver side is displayed in the pic on the passenger side.

"SI" logo FTL though....

change: your car is obd0 it only blinks short. no long and short. and it goes from smallest number to biggest. like 6 blinks, pause, then 17 pause and if thats all you have then it will keep blinking 6 then 17.

Thats what I was thinking. Thanks for confirming.

Engine coolant temp sensor and something to do with a fuel injector I guess.

injector code could just be a loose wire. either at the ecu or the injector.. at least that happened to me with my mpfi swap. but i dont know. if you have to replace the injectors its probably easier to replace the intake manifold. i tried taking the injectors out of my dpfi manifold and the screws either stripped or i couldnt get the injector out.

I also was thinking a loose wire might be it.

I was told to let the car idle for about 20 minutes after replacing the head gasket. Is that right?

im not sure.. but if you havent torqued it down at all then theres no point. if you dont torque it down the right way then you'll just be wasting your time.

It was bolted down tight in the correct order, I just don't know how tight tight is. I'll find a torque wrench sometime and make sure. What are the head bolts supposed to be torqued to? We couldn't find it in the manual.

im not sure the spec for the head bolts. but i know your supposed to do a two stage deal.. like torque at a spec then again a little tighter. i wouldnt drive the car before torquing.. you might screw up that engine and wont be able to drive it.
