ETA for said raise? Are you going to have to travel to find one? I'll keep an eye out here.

The raise will be sometime in the next three months. They require a three month wait for people that haven't been with the company more then a year.

I'm willing to travel up to 8 hours drive time.

Anyone else in socal see that huge rainbow? I'm sure that comment will get flammed, but it was dope.

Got them both out and cant figure out how to move the alternator to pull it out from the top or bottom.

Going from the top i have to pull some coolant hoses off, but cant seem to do it...

Going through the bottom it keeps hitting the alternator bracket or the oil filter.(Hasnt touched the axle)

If your talking about you have both bolts off . The next thing "I" did was loosen the lower driver side ball joint, then swing the hub forward giving you room to moving the axle out the way a little to pull the alternator out the bottom. Thats how i did it unless there is a better way some one else might know?

edit: Remove the oil filter

hmm... guess i need to buy a new oil filter... the way this is going im gonna look at just dropping in a new sohc since my car burns oil and coolant(just found this out) and also leaks oil.

Found a good condition cable ZC trans for $125. need to find a good longblock. And carbs that way i dont have to worry about wiring up the mpfi...

Help me find a cheap carb setup

He doesn't want a DX, he wants an EX. That's like telling someone just to buy a 60gb HDD when what they want is a 180gb HDD. Sure you could buy the 60gb HDD right now and add two more 60gb HDD's later, but why when you can do it all in ONE?

You don't make sense... I didn't buy a 2.5L Jetta so that later on I could add turbo, suspension, etc... I bought the GLI which comes with turbo, upgraded suspension, etc.

Just wait it out, when you find one, you will appreciate it that much more, like I said, not many people here can speak on behalf of the true differences of a DX, and LX, and an EX. My homie has a DX, first sedan I was ever around... I bought an LX, got rid of it, and now have my EX... Why **** with wiring up an MPFI conversion, when you can buy the car already wired? Why swap in a cruise control unit when you can buy a car that already comes equipped with it?....

Anywho, good luck with the search.

I kinda agree with you. Having an EX is dope but not the end all. However, he should wait it out until he finds the exact sedan he's looking for.
