So, locally a CTR Intake Cam came up for sale. I was wondering if there is really any gain over a GSR cam? I'm not looking for any crazy gains or anything, I dd my car and I was just curious.

What are my Gains and also my losses on it compared to my gsr cam. Also he only has the intake one so could I run it with a gsr exhaust cam or would I need to get a ctr exhaust cam?

Any info is greatly appreciated as always. Thanks alot.

Eazy, do you have a link by any chance? Just moved from Japan and picked up my GSR. It's going to go to paint when I get back from deployment (US Navy) and I thought it would just be easier to get these instead of shaving the holes. I need new seals and door panels anyways so this seems a lot cheaper!!

Oh, also, does anyone have any recommendations on a body shop in the Seattle area? I got rear ended while I was in San Diego so the persons insurance is going to fix it but I would like to get the whole car done at the same time since they are going to have to repaint the entire rear end anyways. Thanks!!

Are OEM ITR springs a little lower and more firmer than stock ones?

yes it is worth is. gsr cams are pretty tame compared to type R cams. CTR is the most aggressive intake cam and will def make a difference. I put skunk2 stage1 cams in my gsr and it made a big difference and their lift/duration numbers are very similar to CTR(more aggressive actually) and running a gsr exhaust cam is fine too. I would buy that in a minute.

I dont' think they are worth the time and effort to put on versus spending a little extra to get some Tein springs.

I have been waiting for you lol

Since I have people saying the opposite, saying that I won't really notice the difference...

Like do you know maybe roughly how much hp I would gain or something.. I'm really on the fence about doing it..

I see H&R race springs go for 100 all the time and that will drop you 2.5 in.

i won't profess to know any HP numbers exactly. i had more mods done than you did. comptech header, comptech intake, mugen exhaust, edelbrock 65mm TB and both cams. but i def noticed that the cams made the biggest difference. from 4500-redline, **** pulled harder than it ever had before. actually felt forward momentum. I would buy it myself, if i didn't already have Toda cams

one of the best parts i've ever bought for a b series Vtec motor is a 65mm throttle body. Throttle response is incredible and def makes for a nice increase. Once again Horsepower increase isn't astronomical ,but an overall increase in the powerband.

Yeah see I'm gunna have a cheapo obx header, Apexi N1 catback, and AEM cai w/ K&N filter.... thats it... my actual motor is bone stock... I don't think I'm really ready to start on the motor yet...

What do they bring on HT? Maybe I could pick it up and put a price on it and if it sells then it sell but if I'm ready to work on the motor then I could use it if I still have it.

I feel like my motor isn't really good enough to be upgrading cams and stuff lol

Also what do decent 65mm throttle bodies run?

what year is your gsr? you got any pics?
It's a 97 with 98+ front and rear.

I'm also running the Skunk2 Stage 1 cams and love them. Best part is I passed smog with them still!

They got 3 itr's in their last shipment, but I'm not sure if they sell just the actual door panels. When I was asking about them they said $300 so I assumed that was for the entire door including the panel. If that was for just the interior panel then they're way overpriced....which isn't surprising.

How much is he asking for it?


Oh and jdmmugeneg6, it's an importer here in philly so I don't think they would ship to washington. There are probably a few type-r's being parted out and definitely a few importers on the west coast that have the doors for you.

He is asking 160 for the intake cam, thats all he has... I would prob offer less though bc no body has been interested.

Wait they got three complete ITRs? do they sell them complete? I've never been there. only jdm exchange before they closed and jdm motorsportz which idk if there even there anymore

They were complete but elite takes what they want they cuts them up except for the front clips. Its kinda depressing since they get some pretty sick cars, like an r33 sedan, then chop them up. But yeah they got two white itrs and a red one back in january. They have the front clips from them still.

Check it out when you have a chance nick and anthony are good people and will give you the tour anytime.

i've gotten most of mine 2 Edelbrocks and 1 STR 65mm for 130-150bucks on the marketplace or Ebay
