1997s came with a 4cyl F22b1 in auto or 5spd and a J30 only offered in auto.
In 1998-1999, the 6cyl stayed the same and the 4cyl went to an F23.

lol no i think its from when he tried to paint them white himself, and they chipped.

alright i need some opinions on what to do. i have the chance to get neuspeed springs, 1.75F 1.5R, for 140obo. im going to have the car for about another year but i wanted to get some opinions whether or not i should do it. its going to be on stock shocks, but people say anything above a 2" drop wouldnt blow the shocks.
would the 1.7/1.5 drop with stock shocks be worth the ride? also i drive the car A LOT as in 8 hour trips from norcal to socal.

 

depends... how many miles are on your car? i bought some neuspeeds that i was gonna throw on my stock shocks, but after i bought them and thought about it, i decided to sell them for coilovers. i actually ended up selling them to zguy95135 look on the first page for how slammed his car is on them, hes got them on tokico illuminas, which lower the car even some more.

as for your stock struts, you should be able to run aftermarket springs on them for a while before they blow, i know a few people who have been running them on their CLs for close to a year and the shocks still have a little bit of life left, but it all depends how much life is left in them.

i say, if you're gonna go thru the trouble of changing springs, you might as well save up a few hundred for some aftermarket shocks too. even KYBs arent a bad choice. it will give you the adjustibility option too, which is nice.

but $140 is a good price for those, used im guessing. I sold mine brand new for $170 after buying them for $200

 

hey my S in an AT, and the shift **** is just plain black leather, and ive seen 02's and 03's that are AT and the **** says TYPE S on it, do you think if i got one it would fit??

just keep checkin eBay, they got em
