Either one. A couple of my tech's here at VW told me that it could just be the battery is so dead...but I think it is an ignition problem as well. Hopefully I can find something out this weekend.

Whoa. Do you hear the fuel pump prime or anything?
1. Change your battery.
(If it starts up after this disregard what I am about to say)
If it continues...
/Check and see if you hear your fuel pump prime and main relay click
(a) Yes (b) No
- (a) It should start, if not check for engine grounding
- (b) If it doesnt check the engine harness ground that is on the back of the engine, it is an eyelid that bolts into the thermostat housing...
//(a) After checking engine grounding the engine should start if not follow my subsection (b)
//(b) Odds in favor the problem is the main relay. Replace it.
*If this doesnt work post up the symptoms after my recommendations.

When I tried to start it the first time, the fuel pump did prime. The main relay however, did not click. That's what confused me about it. But I did check all the relays/fuses in the under hood fuse panel and everything looked to be in good shape. I did start the car once to drive it up on a trailer when it was automatic, so I don't know why it would be the main relay.

start small with the battery. then go from there. grounds? there is one i forgot to put back on and felt like a dipshit when my friend came over and pointed it right out.
Well, I think I figured out the problem..but have yet to remedy it. I think I am going to need to wire in the neutral safety switch to the existing plug.
