yea, with my spacers I'll have a total of 10.5" of lift in front.. maybe more if I can squeeze an inch or so out of some coilovers. the difference between my lift and your lift is you will have ALOT more suspension travel than I will.. your ride should be smoother, especially on rough ground.

What kinda lift kit do you plan on getting? Please don't tell me like Fabtech.

it is more than likely going to be a fabtech... I was waiting for cognito, but at this point a cheaper 8" is smarter than buying a 10-12" that'll more than likely cost double or more.

Well I guess Fabtech is okay if you just want that lift look.

while I'm about 90% sure you don't know what you're talking about here... most of the 4wd chevy lift kits are basically the same design(either a lowered subframe/front diff and/or knuckles).. the fabtech "6 inch" is really an 8 inch lift. FTS subframes are ugly and over priced IMO, and the other 6 inch lifts really are 6 inches and/or don't drop the front differential a full 6 inches.

while I'd love to build prerunner, there aren't many long travel options for 4wd gm trucks. And I'm not converting my 4wd to 2wd or trading my 4wd for a 2wd. Besides, I want to use this truck everywhere.. I couldn't even think of where I could use a prerunner to its potential. So, I'm going with the biggest lift for the money that doesn't have an ugly subframe.. I suppose in a few years I'll upgrade to a bigger cognito kit, but for my first truck to lift I'm thinking 10"+ and 36's or 37's is plenty big.

edit: an idea of how tall the newer gm trucks are...
the white gmc has the fabtech lift and 36's, the black chevy is a 2500hd with a 12" fts lift and 38's. albeit, the 38's are on the small side.

^^^Oh cause I thought you were getting the Fabtech for off road purposes. I meant that you're getting it because it is just a lift kit right? Cause yeah if I had a full size truck I'd probably go with a Fabtech lift kit too. But because I have a Prerunner I'd have to go all out off road, lol.

well I am geting it for offroad purposes, just not anything drastic... more or less just tire clearance. in all honesty, my truck will be on road 95% of the time or more.. so in typical James fashion, it just needs to look nice and be capable of what I want it to do.

Hahaha I hear ya' dude, and it's true my truck will probably be on the road too 95% of the time but when the times right it'll be at Glamis by hopefully summer? But I doubt it...
