i'm tempted to just leave at noon and tell them i dont feel good. but i call in sick a lot...usually on a monday or friday, so they'd be somewhat suspicious. i dont think they care too much cuz they haven't told me anything and i hardly ever have work to do.

 

what do you do? i work at the home depot.

 

i'm an analyst at an investment broker in marina del rey. work in the product development department. i create a bunch of custom financial models for clients using our proprietary database. also helping with the creation of new templates for clients to use. but i never have enough work. i literally work like 1 hour a day and just surf the net (mostly h-t) all day.

been here since september after moving from up north where i worked in public finance as a consultant to municipalities (lot of debt/investment strategies stuff)

 

that is a cool job.

 

it sounds better than it really is. i mean, i like working with excel (that's how i make my models), but it's boring cuz i dont feel like i'm learning much. i'm kinda removed from clients/portfolio managers so it's not like i'm learning how they use my models to pick stocks, etc.

 

I see what your saying. Last summer I got a really cool office job at Via Rail( passenger train company it's big in Canada) and I was basically doing data entry on excel and then I make a graph with the data collect. It was on fuel and how much we use. Anyways I didnt understand one thing of the graphs but my boss was like this amazing good work Dave. He was so pleased about it. Well I went to visit them 2 weeks ago ( its a summer job only) and I told my boss that this year I want to learn and understand these graphs and he said that he had planned on doing that this summer. So I get to learn something new instead of doing 2 hours of work and 6 hours of H-T which isnt bad btw.

2 hours til my weekend is here. what's everyone gonna be doing?

i'm gonna change my egr control solenoid and troubleshoot what else is causing high nox at the 15mph test so i can get my baby BAR'd. but i think it's the egr control solenoid.
