The motor is derived from a B20A5 (early Prelude). The car itself is from 1994. I think the motor was obtained by Steve Nichols sometime later in the mid-late 90's. As Formula 3 rules dictate, they could not use engines with variable valve-timing (ie. no VTEC), required to use a restrictor of 24mm (that Mugen CF teardrop-shaped intake) and limited to 165hp. All of Mugen's F3 race motors from the 90's are at 165-hp. Revs up to 8000-8500 rpms I think. Pretty good for a Honda motor from the mid-90's. 165-hp may not sound much, but in a car made of carbon-fiber weighing only 900-lbs, it's more than enough
Found a pic of the motor specs:

Awesome man, I bet 165 is enough in that thing, I drove one of those Barber Dodge open wheelers once that had around 115 hp's (sweek neon swap) and that was gnarly, only a 250cc shifter kart felt faster.
thanks again man

This F3 car looks amazing!
I would love to take this thing around a road course for a few laps, I bet its uber fun.
Also I'm just curious to know how hard it would be to get replacement parts for the engine and tranny?
Nice find man.

Thanks. The transmission is from Hewland. That won't be a problem. As for the motor, it would have to be through the grey-market or buying a used motor. They seem to come up on occasion (a little more frequently than the Mugen V8s).

Mugen clause is stopping by my house next. Though he's a slow flying bastard.
Urmil, I don't care about the value, I care more about the wheels themselves, if they re-released them, in all new finishes, I'd be thrilled. I don't buy parts to make money off of them anyway.

I'm still waiting on Mugen Claus. He has been stuck in customs since November.

Mugen Claus is supposed to bring me the Lightweight Jacket for Christmas.
It was ordered just before thanksgiving and I'm still waiting on it. It's good thing I didn't need it for warmth. It's about 9 degrees outside and blizzarding. I coulda foze to death by now.

Mugen clause exerts apathy for the weak

Mugen Clause it was. And for those that wanna know. The Racing III is the same diameter as the FG360 but much thinner.

Not to mention the same contour, and better looking, definitely easier to grip and hold, with more "hand traction"...
