It's not that much, only about 800 higher than jdmland asked for their bnib silver set a couple years ago. I'd wait for a used set though so you'd be more comfortable putting them on the car.

If I spent 3k on wheels in that condition and put them on my car, I'd be obsessing over them and stressing over each little knick or scratch that comes with using them. Would take all the fun out of it. But that's just me.

almost hurts to get that first blemish on any new brand new parts
same with even taking them out of the packaging

i'll buy used cause i'm not that picky and if i buy new i know i'll use it (not buying to just collect) so it will get in used condition anyways so why not save a bit and buy like that condition in the first place. like you said less worries/stress/waiting and more time enjoying them
