yes sir we def need a crew shoot. its like this if you have a jdm motor in your car you have to put the same yr it was available and/or offered for my car since in 1992 del sols with b16s werent around i cant ref a jdm motor but if i had a 1995 and had a jdm b16 that would be find because its seen as a replacement motor. its confusing at first but once you go to state ref and get the run down its so easy

 

Technically u can have a b16 in ur 92 hatch as long its a 93 b16. But yea its harder to pass ref or impossible to get a jdm motor bard now. Pretty gay.

 

well once they see b16 a they cant verify the yr it was made so thats why they say that. basically whatever year the b16 came optional will work for that same yr civic. but my yr theres no swap available like for ex i could slap in a single vtec and ref no problem because it was available in 1992

 

They can still tell. They can see the stamp on the head. That's what they really look at. With us spec motors a3 is obd1 and the a2 is obd2. That's the only way I can tell a for a block. Jdm u can't really say wats the year on the block. Aaaaggghh hella bored. Hahah.

PERIOD. you will never ever pass. for HDKX240, sir you can swap a sr20, and do you know why that is? Because there WAS a sr20de made in the US already in the Nissan 200sx and the first gen Nissan sentra. the sentra also came with an optional turbo (basically turning your car into a sr20deT). Chris, throw in a usdm b16a, youll pass as long as its from the 95 del sol si or from the 99-00 civic si. if you go non Vtec, anything NEWER than your original chassis year will pass. lol, talking about cars make you learn alot faster than reading hahaha knowledge is power KEEP IT UP GUYS!!!

You cannot swap a SR20DET into his 240 because it wouldn't pass visual and won't pass emission test.

I dunno if the piping of a DA is the same as the DC. Cause I know DC piping fits on my EG. Let me know if its the same b pipe cause my friend has bunch of piping.

 

you CANT swap a real sr20deT BUT from the USDM Nissan sentra (88-92) which is also coded sr20de. its non turbo, obd1, and same regulations as the ka24de. lol maybe you were thinking i was was talking about the sr20det from japan.

oh yeah, for piping...well only replacement or a muffler shop can do. Good luck and i hope i cleared some stuff!
