i road my mercier kilo tt its nice i like it
its a huge difference from my road bike
i attempted to skid stop but didn't work i just kept moving forward
besides it was snowing and the ground was starting to freeze so i decided to stop going back out on Monday its suppose to be better then
and advice on how to skid stop
i think i was just standing when i tried and i think i should put all my weight up front i don't know if thats true
and is it better to learn on wet pavement or dry?
i do have to say the one thing i prefer on my road bike is my clips
the stock cage on the mercier kilo tt suck ***

MMMmmm. something weird i found. dunno if it's true.

Sitting on a bicycle saddle for more than 30 minutes at a time — especially if you also wear tight fitting bicycle shorts — may raise your scrotal temperature and affect sperm production.
In addition, prolonged cycling can cause genital numbness — a sign of damage to delicate nerves and arteries. Choose a seat that's not too hard or narrow, and make sure it's adjusted to minimize pressure on your perineum. Take frequent rests while biking.

as fat as skidding goes, i honestly learned by riding around my neighborhood with no cars and just timing my lean with pedal stroke. i like to make almost a stroke while leaning forward, then lock the legs. an effective way to stop/slow down is skipping which is a short pull up, getting your rear wheel off the ground and locking the wheel in mid air (sounds difficult, but you will get the hang of it)
practice, practice, practice

not that im a veteren of the fixed world but i think skidding is silly, especially when people do it as a "trick" to see who can lay down the longest skid. im still partial to my front brake, and i know alot of track forks dont have accessible hole(did i just say that!?) i like rear tires and front brakes.. but what do i know!
