Just because it has the aluminum rim does not mean it is a clincher. My front hed is aluminum rim tubie.

huh? the majority of them are tubular, carbon braking surface or not. they're meant for racing and most people use tubies when racing, rather than sacrificing weight and going with a clincher.

i think that's a specialized rather than hed branded trispoke. because on hed's site there is not a tubular wheel offered with aluminum braking surface. i guess i should have specified.

well they made the hed3c after people asked for a lighter wheel-- the versions before that were all aluminum rims, tubular or not...

What was the purpose of buying it? Couldn't you have just saved your money in the first place.

Question for the bike gurus..........between all the available track cranks out there, why is the campy record so damn expensive? [campy, dura-ace, superbe, sugino, etc.]

Theyre nice , but I think alot of it is buying the brand name . Theyre alot more than dura ace , and imo are not better . Theyre even more than grand mightys and sure arnt stiffer than them. Mark up on campy is double .

you're paying alot for the name, but you also get what you pay for... proven quality.

They are nice , but I dont think theyre any stiffer / rounder than the omnium's which are less than half the price of the campys

has anyone in here converted from bmx commuting to fixed gear? i ride bmx bikes only because i jam through human traffic and red light stopped vehicle traffic on days that i'm running late so i can hop over the side walks and ledges in the way. mostly center dividers and curbs. i figure if i go with a track frame or a fixed wheel, i could just get in more distance faster and obey normal bike laws when crossing and stuff...i know, stupid questions but i've been really hesitant on getting another style bike other than bmx's.
