fixed gear bicycle
I've got an older mtn. bike that I want to convert to single speed. It has a low end shimano triple crank, and all the sprockets are welded together. What is an inexpensive way to get a single crank? Do I have to buy a whole new crank? I don't want to cut up the one I have. Please help!

I usually lock it up thru my rear wheel and seat tube.

Thought I'd post a picture of my daily:
1970's Panasonic Sport. Built it myself with some build advice from Nathanong, thanks mate
Yes, Brooks saddle that is fully broke in and NOT for sale. Same with the Brooks cork grips. I actually wrapped the bike in vinyl that I had colour matched. And yes, original 70's front Panasonic tyre!
hmm, pic lost a lot of resolution : (

You really cant beat the price! Theyre highly praised on bikeforums as far as low-end fixed gears are concerned.
