hey guys i bent my chain ring by riding too close to a curb (no bike lane). the chain kept falling off so i bent the crank back with a rock. enough to get me home.

i have an older fixie that was converted.

i bought it for a real good price. the seller THINKS its a fuji.

now my question is, is there a "standard" type of chain ring that i can replace with it?

i will post a picture for more help. i know what i just described probably wont help myself anyways but its some food for htought until i get pix up.

its a one piece crank. thats all i know, lol.

thanks in advanced. sorry for the n00b question

Question for you guys. If this is the wrong thread, I'll move it. Anyway, I've got an old trek mtn. bike that I'm looking to convert to either a single speed or a six speed. I want to retain the freewheel function. Anyway, the crank is a one piece 28-38-48 gear, and I don't want to cut it up. How do I figure out what type of chain ring I need? I'm thinking 48t would be good. The components are old shimano altus c20. Not high end by any means, but I bought the bike new in 1994 when I was 14.

one piece cranks aren't able to swap chainrings...

u should upgrade to a square taper bottom bracket and then buy some new cranks IMHO that take a 130bcd chainring or something

Rode it for a couple miles last night. Not too bad, I still want different bars though. For stock I would agree they are pretty good.

Where the original bars built into the stem? Is that why he cut them short to add the other 'bars" ?

Rode for a good while around my neighborhood today. Mapped out a 5 mile route that I'm going to ride later this week or Saturday through a nearby park.

Show off.

I'll probably do 15-20 when I go over to the park this week. Riding in my neighborhood was not fun, I got swerved at a few times. Office parks nearby ftl.
