The regular mods don't have that ability anymore because some of the jerk mods were handing out user titles that people didn't want.
Only the "global" mods or admin can do it now.
It seems like the consensus is you should be the unofficial slammed picture thread leader. I doubt admin will hand out moderating abilities for just one thread because, as someone already mentioned, it would have to be for the whole section. However, if things go well and you are interested, I am sure GK would put you through the vetting process and consider you for a mod gig if you are interested. The App/Cos sections are massive and certainly could use the extra eyes.
The group of you as a whole that are so passionate about this should attempt to act as a team to regulate the nonsense. I don't know what it is about the slammed crowd, but it gets out of hand in there entirely too often.
Please understand that this site has almost 400,000 members and only about 60 moderators. It is the second largest automotive forum on the internet. When a member or a thread is requiring a significant amount of attention, the only realistic option we have for correcting the problem is to remove that member or thread. If NorCal EM1 and the rest of you can limit the disturbances, the thread will survive.
The majority of the mod staff are good guys, really. We volunteer a great deal of our own time to help maintain order for this online community. We do not get paid and we honestly get a lot of flack for what we do. Personally, I do what I do because I am a die hard Honda enthusiast. I've owned 15 up to this point (even my mower is a Honda). Moderators are necessary to maintain order, guide discussions in the right direction and provide the best environment for people to learn and obtain the information they need.
Specific guidelines as far as content (explicit, most notably) have been set out by American Honda Motor Company, Inc. so that we can retain their name in our domain. Please keep that in mind when watching what is posted here and in the new slammed thread. Anything NSFW or pornographic in nature is strictly prohibited.
I understand you all have your own specific guidelines for what cars should and should not be posted in the slammed picture thread. It seems like the most trouble arises when someone posts something that isn't up to your standards. When replying or reacting to such a post, try to keep it as cordial as you can. When multiple people respond in a hateful manner, the OP gets defensive and arguments start. I would suggest ignoring some of those people and moving on with the topic.
NorCal, feel free to start the official thread and outline in the OP what the guidelines are and what is expected of people posting there. I think providing a link to this thread for general discussion regarding slammed cars is a good idea. I would also put an emphasis on the fact that the new thread is primarily for pictures.

i say if someone starts witha i know im not slammed automatic deltion. also if someone says a car is cookie cutter etc and a person replys to it do it strictly through pms do not respond on the actual thread. because it fills up clutter.
