OK i need a OBD0 distibuter! to test and see if mine is bad. if not its deffinantly some internal!

 

if you lived near me id sell you mine for 80

 

if you lived near me i got tons of em you could try out...hope your motor is well. hopefully the dizzy will fix your problem.

Ok so i tried to see if i could get spark from the sparkplug wire and as my wife turned the motor over a puff of black smoke chuged out of the throttle body

 

Here is what happend and you guys put in your 2 cents

(not getting on it)pulled out from a stop sign, went to about 4500 rpms shifted to 2nd BAM!!!!! crazy LOUD backfire then kaput, it died. then i start it back up roll a few feet and then it died and never came back. so now it wont start ,but it turns over real fast, timing belt is still intact and cams look like their still in time. then after it sits for awhile and you try to turn it over a chug of black smoke puffs out of the throttle body !

So ive heard it could have jumped time
bad distibuter
bent a valve
blown a piston
what else do you guys think?

damn thats sounds real wierd


doesn't sound like anything to do with the distributor though.
If anything take it off and check the ignition coil amek sure you don't have any white residue in the inside of the cap.

If your timing slipped, I think it cranks slow...not sure because I don't remember right now but when my belt slipped a tooth is was cranking funny.
Check TDC and cam positions for that.
Take off the valve cover and make sure everything is poting the right way.


All that other stuff I don't know the symptoms for
good luck with that

 

well i didn't get any spark when i grounded the spark plug wire, and its only a lil puff of smoke out of the throttle body, and when i took off the valve cover all the springs looked even? and inside the cap it clean

 

i dunno man, i know if ur ignition timing is off on a v8 carborated motor then it will shoot flames out the carborator. but if it turns out u need a obd0 dizzy i live in nashville and i got a couple

is it a b series dizzy? and i might be willing to drive down and get it i just dont want to drive all the way down there and pay for it and then get home and that dont fix it.
