my rt4wd decided to **** ALL it's fluid out an hour from home. FIRST long trip on the "rebuilt" transmission and it takes a dump... thinking about getting rid of it... might just need to get a 2wd...

I HATE the idea of giving up on her... but with my ef hatch in pieces and the rt4wd wagon down, I'm screwed, the point of even having the wagon is to have a DD... I TOTALLY agree about not really needing the 4wd though, LOL!! It barely even rains out here in Cali...

By the way HYJINX247 your wagon is looking DOPE on those wheels, 16's fit so NICE!

looked like it was coming from the seal on the transfer case... that cap where the drive shaft bolts up, and the actual transfer case... any ideas? It was the first long trip since the "rebuilt trans" and the fresh motor...

Are you able to un bolt the prop shaft and gain access to the seal? Or is it sealing the case of the transmission?

I'm not too sure, I'm planning on putting it on the rack this weekend to see what is going on, I'll keep everybody updated.

Anybody know about welding up the viscous coupler, rear diff options, or just plain ways to make the 4wd more reliable and economic to keep?

Good luck with it mate.

I honestly think the most reliable you can make it is if you keep it as stock as possible.

having a time finding it

What is everyone's preferred method?
