Default Help, my Del Sol driver side door handle is loose.

On 01/013/07 at around 2200, my wife went to warm my car up. She was able to open the door fine. After she got out, she tried to open the door with no success . I can still open the door from the inside. What went wrong and how do you fix this. What should I be looking for and where to buy the parts. It was like 12F outside and it was park outside all day. Who's at fault my wife, weather or the 12 year old car.
The exterior driver side door handle is loose and it does not engage.
My vehicle is a 95 vtec del sol with keless entry and alarm.

a clip that connects the outer door handle to the latch probably broke.... just take the door panel off and start looking around at the mechanisms in there, you should be able to spot the problem fairly quickly.

</TD></TR></TABLE> I'm gonna take a guess and say the cold weather contributed to it, the rods that go from the striker mechanism to the interior handle to the exterior handle. The rods are usually connected to the handles with a plastic clip. either that has broken or the inside of the exterior handle has snapped off.
Pertty much what solerizr was saying, pull the door skin off and check by pulling the handles.

something similiar i think happend to me about a year ago, on the passenger side, the door was unable to be opened from the outside and then the inside went also, but we just replaced the door handle and put the rod thingy back on the interior side, i think that was what happened, it was about a year ago, and my memory is fried

Ok, thanks for your replies. So, if there is something broken. Just order it from Honda dealer or go to a salvage yard. I'm really hoping that something just came loose.

Unless you yank on it like a mindless gorilla it's probably just loose. Remove the inner door panel and I bet you could figure it out.
