If they want it theyl take it. Nothing can beat a flatbed/trailer. It really depends where you live.

*edit: bay area cali huh? If ya gotta leave it in the street, go for the sleeper look, and do everything you can to keep it safe.

All i can tell ya is get real creative with some kill switches, get a good paging alarm, a removable steering wheel, take off your liscense plates at night.... i dunno if they want it bad enough theyre gonna take it.... you can make it hard, but you can never make it impossible.

Other than that its sleep in your car with a sawed off shotgun.

but a 9mm with a silencer is soo much quieter and less messy

here's what I'd do:
-good alarm (paging system is always a good idea in bad neighborhoods)
-Go to a good trustworthy shop to get it installed and pay them extra to "hide" it ie: alarm not in the middle of th firewall!(if of course you can't install it yourself)
-Add a tilt sensor(goes off as soon as the angle of the car changes, no matter how quickly or slowly they change the angle of it)
-hidden kill switches
-the NRG hub system with the locking cap

I've got everything except the NRG hub system and feel very safe...in most areas. But, as solerizr said, definately don't do anything flashy if you're trying to keep a low profile, and if they want it bad enough they'll get it

Ahhhh I see my ****** have been hard at work! Mornin!

Neil and Ian, since you asked, my engine is running like a turkey. Even though it's running at acceptable levels, I saw alot of exhaust coming out, like I mean ALOT! At first I thought it was from the cold and cold start, but it continued even as it warmed up. Temp was fine, idle fine, water and oil levels fine...

I guess I'll tackle that problem in Febuary after the Crash course and repaint. Yeah I said it.
