I'm so pissed.

I got a call from the engine shop today saying my block was ready.

They quoted me me $225 for clean + bore. [freak]ing told me my bill is $470.60

WTF?!?!?! for just a hot tank and bore/hone? that's absurd...300-350(forget the exact amount) is the most I've ever heard of anyone paying(for an inline 4 block anyways) to have that done and that was some guy in NV that had no shop around for miles

oh i remember those days
getting the bills from the machine shop
and paying them no matter how high just to get my car running/racing again...
desperation at crunch time

thats the reason why i won't do type-s head
cause even if I get tsx pistons and rods for cheap ($75)
The machine shop will charge like $500 just to clean and assemble...

but maybe i could assemble it myself...

I wish. Called them up and thats what he told me. Dropped it off and 2 days later they slap me with a $470 bill.

I can usually come through with pics
Since i save almost every pic and am pretty ocd/organized
but this must've been before I was really on the thread (although I remember seeing one)

pm replied...

out with the old to make room and $$$ for the new
thats how to do it
so you're wallet doesn't take that hard of a hit

is that true?
hmmm...never knew that

now that i really think about the price difference
more than double
thats ridiculous

like what were the "unexpected" costs
not like he needed to replace any of your parts that he didn't expect to
which is what usually can happen and commonly raised the final price

Don't hold your breath though, I won't come across that kind of money any time soon.

p.s.

i'm sure i'll get flamed for this

but kind of thought about the idea of starting a "team"

called....(get ready for this)

Team JAPANDA

LOL

only black and white cars...
or white cars with some black parts (panda style...like mine)
or black cars with white wheels (sasha?)

Ideally it would be for black and white DAs (my buddy has one)
and the decal would say JAPANDA

ownage,
for ryan who asked a long time ago if I got any parts in CF
smallest piece I got with CF:

medium part with CF:

(tested these out with the antenna/radio and sound great had to get matching speakers for the rear speaker grills )
biggest part with CF:
???

You should get one
I love mine!

I'd make an exception for you
Haichiroko!!! FTW!!!
Initial D style or the GT Apex like in Gran Turismo
Straight up panda style

I really am a fan of drifting myself
went to see D1 at GTLive in fontana, CA a couple of years ago (best trip ever!)

Too bad honda's aren't built for drifting like nissans are
but there are some FF honda drift cars (EFs EGs)
and that drift RWD converted DC2

There is always the S2K but those are made to keep traction, not lose it LOL
the RS*R S2K had to make the s2k "dumb" in order to make it drift and put a lot of work into it...

speaking of JGTC
I thought this was hilarious:

I'm pretty sure this sign if from one of their events from Japan (cause of the autobacs decal, which is who sponsors JGTC)
