yeah definetly. I just drove a ls hatchback that some guy was trying to trade me with for my del sol..and that ls tranny is definetly a dog. however, the motor was had very nice low end.

I meant long term ls wise...lsvtec build..or are you more of a fan of the all motor ls builds with a nice low-mid powerband

yeah..its just that the ac on this one went out..and it was freezing cold on the old one..not to mention I had all ready spent money, time, and sweat doing the suspension/rear disc brakes/ss brake lines and now I just basically brought myself right back to where I started

LS VTEC would be where i'd go if i were you.... being in california, thats not as wasy with smog. Unfortunately the design of the LS head doesn't allow to flow as well as any of the B vtec heads.

yeah,I actually want to swap a b16a into my car and then pick up a b20 block on the side to just slowly build and once Im completely worn out of the b16a,do a b20vtec.

I love the ls motor for daily driving, but something about its lack of power near the end of 3rd gear+ just kills it for me. But that could also be because of the tranny..

I think the ls is great for tight, twisty roads(autox),but the b16 is a little more fun if you're driving around long sweeping turns or doing some spirited driving on the highway...

i know it all boils down to personal choice and opinion,i just like hearing and sharing ideas and views with other people

edit: another incentive for the b16 personally is because a friend of mine wants to swap his out for a typeR motor..so he'd sell me his b16/ctr cams for 2000.
runs strong and hasnt been beat on because he drives like a grandma when hes not at the 1/4 track
