It sucks because I've been here since 7-2-2002 helping support the site and make it grow to what is is today. just to be told to start a new account because I don't want to 275.00 a month for adverting.

Im not a huge fan of those hood pins... Funny note, here in cali its illegal to use hood pins because of sharp objects on the exterier of your vehicle... I guess war machines are illegal.

I don't like the hoodpins either but driving around when its windy sketches the hell out of me. It's ok though, I have a seibon hood without pins also... oh yeah, and the stock hood

I've heard of too many people with cf hoods that fly up when its windy on the interstate. I don't want the same to happen to me. Just a precaution I guess

Yeah thats scary ****. I was looking into hood pins a WHILE back before I got into the honda scene. They have these show pins, their black and sit flush with the hood, their kinda like boat latches. All you see is a flush black plug, you pop it open to use a key to open it. That I wanted for security purposes, but it would do the same thing...

but I also dropped that idea cause I think it looks kinda tacky.

Yeah, I've looked into those as well but a lot of people on here say that those should not be used to hold the hood down from flying up. I guess they just aren't as strong as typical hood pins? Oh well, pins don't look too bad imo

I have a CF hood. It's light as hell and I don't have any hoodpins. I don't think the wind has anything to do with it, unless you have a scoop like an sti or something.

trust me, the wind has everything to do with it. I've had my hood fly up on my jeep going 85 simply because a corner was a little bent but it was VERY windy that day. A gust of wind caught the corner and sent it up. CF hoods have a greater chance at coming up because the hood latch is only resined (spelling?) onto the underside of the hood. Easier to break off.

EDIT: don't get me wrong, some CF hoods will never fly up but I don't want to take the chance and have a $450 hood cause a grand or more in damages to the windshield and roof of my car.

it is very unlikely to happen to integra, 'cause theres no corner or headlight attached to it. if your hood has a gap, then thats when i'll be worried.

It'd be nice if we can have an updated list of who's in the squad, who still has their integra's, etc etc.

they have the carbon fiber latches now, that use a diff type of lock mechanism, so it sits practically flush with the hood and blends in more
