Re: (Bense)
Just wondering if any of you guys have the d15z1/d16y5 boosted?
Post some pics, specs. I have an Integra, but i'm always interested in boosted hondas no matter what engine it is.

nope haha. it's like an 12valve but right when an 12valve would lose it's power (3000rpm) 16valve mode is engaged.

Re: (Wazup)
I just did dyno mine and keep in mind this on a Dyno Dynamics (usually about 13% less than everywhere else), but I made 99.0 hp around 6200 rpms. Peak tq was about 94 ft-lbs around 4500 rpms. I think I have some timing issues that need to be worked out. I have VTEC-E engaging around 3800 rpms. 12 valves will make good power up until about 3600. I'm also a bit rich. AFRs were about 12.5 across the board at WOT. I tuned it quickly with my VAFC for now, but when I go for boost here soon, I'll get in there and mess around with Crome.
Bense, what is the base timing on the Y5? Does it follow the Z6 head with 16 degrees or the Y8 head with 12 degrees?

that is a good question. I am running a d15b7 distributor, but i don't know if i need to get a y5 one and rewire it for obd1. Digitalcongo has said to do this, but i'm still curious to what others have to say (plus i need to find one)

Re: (Mistamike17)
I also forgot to mention that the same night we dynoed mine, we put another guy's stock HX on the dyno (stock all the way down to the paper filter) and it made 87 hp on the stock ECU with AFRs around 11:1 near redline. We plugged in a chipped ECU and quickly tuned the WOT columns to around 12:1 to 12.2:1 and it made the same power on the OBD1 Z6 map.
I'm guessing the Y5 has more timing than the Z6 or something. The only thing that was changed was the ECU fuel maps and VTEC engagement point. It doesn't make sense that it would make identical power (and I really am talking identical... the graphs nearly overlayed each other) on a leaner tune.
Time for more investigating...
