my friend blew his b16 supercharged and it was doing the same **** she says hers is doing he drove it for like a week till he took it to the shop and the guy told him it was blown...lets leave the drama and move on
Couple of things. I have a blown motor. I know what it is. She didn't say that the motor is now making crazy noises. All she said that things keep breaking. I wasn't trying to start anything, I'm just trying to clear things up.
The maxima you raced has 190hp. You maybe have 130 if you have a Y8, 110 if you have Y7. Not to siprising.
Stock Y7 has a compression ratio of 9.1:1 (If I remember correctly). They also can hold 8 psi completely bone stock. If you drop some ctr pistons in it, compression shoots up to somewhere at 11:1 and can run up to 10 psi. 10.72:1 is high but not anything to worry about.

yup yup. I actually swapped my y7 for a complete y8. placed a block guard and dohc zc pistons which if i remember correctly are p72s
I don't think my motor is blown. My motor is hearty. It has a lot of life left... I just need to figure out what the hell is making the car rattle every time I push the gas.
I'm thinking it's just a heat shield.
I'm thinking it's just a heat shield.
^ it could be the heat shield or mortor mounts. thats what i would check first
i dont think it would be the heat shield just cuz mine use to raddle and thats it it would not shake the car, but you could always take it off and see if it stops. i took my exhaust off and now im open down pipe, and im so happy it doesnt raddle anymore lol
It doesn't make the car shake. When I start the car it makes a high rattle sound. I'll take a video of it and post it up so you guys can hear it. Lol Its hard to explain what it sounds like, exactly. I'm doing a tire rotation tomorrow, so when I have the car jacked up, I'll take a look.
ALSO, when I push the gas OR brakes while accelerating or decelerating the car jerks to one side. Bad motor mounts possibly? I've checked the motor mounts and they don't LOOK bad... but they are 14 years old...
I should also sue the gas company that I bought gas from that had the water in it. Filled it up, it started having issues. I used seafoam, cleared the water out... and only had HALF a tank of actual fuel. I'm sure it screwed my injectors.

^^^^ indeed if it keeps giving you problems just swap it. good thing is everyone loves b series so when they swap to b people like us get the D's :D lol except colorado everyone went from B to D's because of the baddle of the D series, but i have seen a load of D's running 10's here
