I've noticed that the people that run x9 they have 16s

Is it easier to fit x9 when there 16s? Better tire sizes?

dont think ground clearance would change much because when you run bigger wheels you run a smaller tire

Irregardless of wheel size nobody is going smaller than a 40 sidewall on a civic. The new trend is 16's, that's the fact of the matter. And no, 16's don't fit better, they're actually harder to fit because they're bigger, and that extra half inch of height isn't going to make or break anything.
